Yachats Winter Celebration

Friday, Dec 13, 2019 - Saturday, Dec 14, 2019
In Yachats, OR

The Little Log Church hopes you can make time to take part in the annual Opening Ceremony for the Yachats Winter Celebration. The Church will be decorated for the holidays, showcasing the beautiful (and fragile) paper window coverings created in 1986 by local women who worked under the direction of Isabelle Prescott, a retired art teacher who came up with the idea to create depictions of Nativity scenes from roofing and typing paper. Each year they are hung with great care, and remain on the windows through early January.

The Opening Ceremony tradition includes a brief holiday message, along with the formal declaration by the Mayor that the Yachats Winter Celebration is officially open. Afterwards all are invited to repair to the neighboring Yachats Ladies Club for refreshments and entertainment by The Sweet Adelines chorale, which will begin singing at 7:30 p.m.

You are invited to join Yachats Mayor John Moore, Log Church volunteers, and as many folks as can fit into the tiny sanctuary. Hope to see you there!
